Chess Game Set
I’m afraid of losing the first game on my new chess set…?
I know this may sound childish, etc. but this is really making me upset and nervous.
I just ordered this awesome chess set from Staunton, and a really nice board that I love.
I always play my dad, and I can’t stand losing. I feel bad every time I lose…
Anyway, I’m absolutely terrified of losing the first game I play on my new chess set… Like if I lose the first game on it I’ll feel like I let everyone down who really knew I liked chess enough to get it for me…
So how do I tell him that I don’t want him to be the first person I play on it? Nicely without him feeling bad? (He’s the one who bought it for me and who I always play chess with)
Play the game with your father, if you let something like losing a casual game against him get in the way of you both celebrating a brilliant gift you should ask yourself do you really deserve it?
I am guessing he bought it because he knows you love chess as I am sure he loves playing chess with you, it would be a shame to deny him the chance to experience the excitement of the new board with you over a potential outcome.
